Qigong Therapy

--The Most Popular Therapy in China --

As a part of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Qigong Therapy  (QT) has a long history. For thousands of years, QT has been accepted by the general population of China  for its curative effect, wide  range of indications, ease to learn, low cost, and safety.  According to the book  “Alternative Medicine, The Definitive Guide”, there are “200 million people practicing Qigong everyday” in China. And more and more people from all over world are getting interested in QT.

Before talking about the QT, I have to explain what Qigong is.  Qigong (pronounced Chi kung) is a method of adjusting the function of the whole body by harmonizing  mind ,body movement, and breath. It stimulates and balances the flow of  “Qi”, or vital life energy, to enhance immune ability, postpone ageing and develop the human body’s potential.

According to Traditional Chinese Medicine theory, a person is healthy and vital when “Qi” is abundant and free flowing.  Illness is present when “Qi” is lacking or blocked.  “Qi” exists when one lives and goes out when one dies.  QT is the therapy which uses the “Qi” as the medicine to prevent or treat the disease.  So Qigong is also called “Energy  Medicine”.

QT has two approaches:  The first is  Self-Healing or Self-Care.  The person who wants to improve his health situation can do the Qigong exercise individually or in a group which is under a qualified Qigong doctor or Qigong master’s supervision. He heals himself  and maintains good health by doing Qigong instead of fully relying on doctors.  The second approach, External “Qi” Healing , a process whereby a well-trained Qigong doctor or Qigong master  uses his own energy to stimulate and balance the “Qi” of the patient so that the illness can be healed.

In my clinical practices in China, West Germany and the USA,  I have used both approaches.  I have offered Qigong classes for both ill and healthy people to teach them Qigong as a treatment or as a way to stay healthy, and also transfer my energy to my patients to treat diseases.

I have offered more than twenty Qigong classes in Wichita, Lawrence and Kansas City.  Hundreds of people aged 18 to 86 took these classes.  Most of them felt the curative effects both mentally  and physically.  For example, a lawyer who was depressed and complained of insomnia and hypertension, improved after just one month of practice in the class.  He was able to sleep better and his blood pressure was controled without medication.  He was happier and no longer depressed.  Another patient, an engineer, was plagued by what he called “aspirin leg” because of the amount of aspirin  he had taken over the past 20 years to relieve the pain.  The pain was gone after only one week of Qigong practice.  His blood pressure decreased from 145/90 to 130/80 and he expressed he had more energy.

People taking extended classes, those lasting 100 days, reported similar results.  Seventy percent of those who had suffered from allergies previously, reported relief from those symptoms.  Others reported differing degrees of relief from headaches, neurosis, chronic gastritis and even asthma.

Using external “Qi”, where the  Qigong doctor or Qigong master transfers his energy to the client, results have been beneficial.  I treated a man complaining of severe, on-going headaches three times using external “Qi”.  His headache was relieved and by learning and practicing Qigong he was able to maintain his energy.    I have also used  External “Qi” to relief pain from things such as tennis elbow, ‘frozen shoulder’, period pain and back pain. For getting better result I do Acupuncture or massage with transferring external “Qi”, too.

From my 20 years of  clinical experience, Qigong Therapy  has helped  many difficult and complicated cases.  Problems with the respiratory, digestive, circulatory, urogenital, and motor systems, and mental problems respond to QT.  In China,  QT has solved many of the difficult cases.  Do not be surprised if you hear  “Qigong cured my cancer” when you visit Uhyna.

If you would like to find a way to heal yourself or prevent disease and maintain good health without relying on pills, paying high costs, or suffering side effects, then Qigong Therapy may be the answer for you.
